State of foreign trade is based on the information resource which allows characterizing the situation in the markets, including production and consumption of goods, the volume of foreign trade, price policy, etc. For these purposes Information-analytical system “Promotion of goods of the Republic of Tatarstan for foreign markets” was developed in Territorial Branch of the Federal State Statistics Service in the Republic of Tatarstan. The task for System’s implementation is to provide a mechanism for analysis and visual presentation of information on the basis of data on production and consumption of consumer goods in the markets of the Volga Federal District, the Russian Federation, CIS countries and foreign countries and make recommendations on possible ways of promotion of national producers’ goods.
Information-analytical system “Promotion of goods of the Republic of Tatarstan for foreign markets” enables enterprises, organizations and structural units to make evaluations and decisions on products promotion. Promotion programs should be economically justified.
The following tasks are solved during analyzing, working out and making decisions on products promotion:
• Evaluation of production in the regions of Russia and foreign countries;
• Goods consumption per capita;
• Scale of own production;
• Presence and number of competitors;
• Price situation on the market;
• Prospects for the goods market development.
The System affords opportunity to make componential analysis, choose commodity groups, indicators, territories and periods.
The use of information-analytical system “Promotion of goods of the Republic of Tatarstan for foreign markets” provides a number of advantages: graphic visualization of output and intermediate data, intuitive interface, automated updating and enhancement of user environment.
Trading communications across regions of the Volga Federal District were estimated. Trading of Tatarstan products expanded quite well in the Volga Federal District. However, there is potential of its expansion and development of new markets. For reasons outside control in some regions of the PFD promotion of goods of the Republic of Tatarstan may not always be effective. New markets in 23 federal subjects of Russia on 23 goods were found out.
The results of evaluation of the prospects for foreign markets development demonstrate trade communications with the CIS countries The study revealed a significant number of countries - potential consumers of Tatarstan products. Low volume of own production of several commodity items and price advantage of Tatarstan manufacturers enable development of new markets.
